A new station is on the air in Beaumont TX. A BE-TV transmitter 2.4kW UHF system and was installed in Port Arthur, TX on channel 33DT for KGEW-LD. The station is part of the Sagermorehill TV network.
The station will cover the Port Arthur and Beaumont TX markets. KGEW will carry Telemundo, Defy TV, True Real and Newsy programming. The installation was completed by one of BE’s engineers Jeff Clampitt. The installation was done in just two days, Clampitt said.. “this was such an easy installation, the transmitters really do just work out of the box”.
Clampitt went on by saying “The transmitter operates with the BE MOD-EX II exciter providing unparalleled performance at the push of a button, with shoulders in excess of 60dB and MER over 40dB. The unique feature is that this is an air cooled TV transmitter and the amplifiers are truly “hot pluggable” making routing maintenance very easy”.
The owner of the station Louis Wall of Sagermorehill Broadcasting said “BE came through when I needed them.
